Bayou Plaquemine Lockhouse

Bayou Plaquemine and the U.S. Government Lock is situated on the right bank of the Mississippi River about 208.2 miles above the Head of Passes, and constitutes a navigable stream with its source at its intersection with the Mississippi River, at the point mentioned above, and extending some 12 miles to its intersection with the Intracoastal Canal (Gulf Intracoastral Waterway).
