Kleinpeter-Knox House

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

In 1787, Joseph Kleinpeter was issued a land grant by Governor Miro for a piece of property along Bayou Fountain in section 69 in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. There he established a small sugar plantation and built the house of the title. In 1877, after a succession of owners, the property was sold to Nathan King Knox, whose descendants maintained ownership until 1981.
