Pointe Coupee MuseumState Highway 1, Oscar Vicinity, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana
The Pointe Coupee Museum is important as an exemplar of very early construction methods once common in 18th and 19th Century Louisiana. Originally an outbuilding for nearby Parlange Plantation, Parlange Family tradition maintains that both this building and the Big House at Parlange were built in the same year by the Marquis Vincent de Ternant. The year was 1750. comments:lhin@unix1.sncc.lsu.edu |LHN Help |
