The Olivier House

Longfellow/Evangeline state park, LA. Highway 31, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana

As with so many colonial houses in Louisiana, the exact construction date of the Olivier House is not known. Available evidence suggests that the house was built between 1810 and 1836 by Pierre Olivier Du Clozel de Vezin, and expanded to its present size by his son Charles, probably in 1845.
